Camille's Journey
My Journey to Photography and Empowerment!
Growing up on a small family farm in North Dakota, I never imagined I’d pursue a career in art. My artistic passion ignited in high school through drawing, painting, and working with clay, but it was my first DSLR camera in 11th grade that steered me toward photography. Despite limited exposure to artists in my small hometown, I saw photography as a viable way to express myself and create a meaningful career.
In 2017, I earned a degree in photography and digital imaging from a community college in Minneapolis, leaving the familiarity of home for a new city and an unknown future. Seeking warmer climates and year-round outdoor creation, I moved to Austin, Texas, in 2018.
A turning point came in 2020 when I started building a community through my work. Today, I am a dedicated freelance photographer specializing in brand, lifestyle, retreat, and wedding photography.
I also blend my passion for holistic wellness by hosting empowering events like ACTIVATED—women’s portrait photography and meditation experiences designed to foster self-discovery and confidence.
My mission is to celebrate authenticity and empower women to embrace their unique beauty and strength. Through my photography and community events. I aim to create safe spaces where women feel seen, valued, and inspired to pursue their passions boldly.
